                                                RE0 Reunion
                                                      Ch. 1

From the Diary of Rebecca Chambers:

“ It’s been a little over a year now since I escaped the horror that took place in the Arkley mountains.  How could I ever forget an ordeal such as that.  I’m still surprised that I’m even alive to tell about it.  I keep having these reoccurring dreams about being up there in those hills.
I remember, it was my first assignment as a S.T.A.R.S member, and I felt I was ready for whatever may come along.  I guess I was expecting it to be easy my first time out in the field, but I was wrong.  To make matters worse, we came across some documents that were scattered among the remains of an MP vehicle which was badly  damaged.  The documents contained information on an ex-marine they were carrying.  It said that he was to be sentenced to death for the murder of twenty three civilians.  The convicts name was Lieutenant Billy Coen.  How worse can the situation get.  Are team was sent up here to look into disturbances reported , and now we have a murderer that we have to chase as well, great.
Our team leader ordered to search the surrounding area for clues.  I went off solo to search for clues.  The forest area I traveled through had a very ominous atmosphere to it.  I kept walking along until I came to a halted train.  It was illuminated so I supposed that there maybe some civilians inside.  Without thinking twice, I went in.
There were people inside, but they weren’t exactly alive you may say.  They started to attack me one by one.  I fought back and was able to get to safety eventually.  I was safe for the moment, as I continued to search other parts of the train until something happened.  I almost panicked when I turned ninety degrees to find having a gun pointed directly at me.  However, I recognized the one who was about to shoot me.  It was lieutenant Billy Coen himself.  It was a rather rude introduction.  Using childish names such as honey and doll face to refer to me as.  I must not have been much of a threat to him at all because he walked off somwhere.
Alone again, I went to check out the train some more.  I encountered several more zombies and other odd apparitions.  Shortly enough I met up with Billy again.  He suggested that we stick together as a team.  I hated the idea of teaming up with this felon which I regret a little.  I went up to the second floor of the train, solo yet again.  I guess I wanted to show him that I was fine on my own.  I came across what I thought was human, but instead turned into some kind of grotesque creature that resembled a human.
I was attacked by this thing and disarmed.  I knew for sure I was going to be dead, but I heard gunfire surround me. Knocking off the creature that was consuming me.  Billy had saved me.  Again, he suggested we stay together to survive. I still wasn’t  happy with the thought of partnering up with this man but I finally gave in and joined forces with him.
The train for no reason started up on it’s own.  We were heading for a huge facility.  After an incident with the train derailing and crashing.  We found ourselves in what was the Umbrella research facility.  Together we traveled throughout this mansion.  Encountering many different creatures and puzzles.  I found myself at times being the damsel in distress.  I felt like I was really relying on Billy to save me at times.  I was very grateful for him coming to the rescue, but boy did  I feel helpless, maybe even embarrassed.  It’s hard  for me to admit this but I was thinking that Billy really isn’t such a bad guy at this point.  He was rude at first when we met, but now I can see he has a more gentle side to him.
Well, getting back on track, we discovered more behind the history of Umbrella’s development and who and what we are up against here.  Someone named James Marcus was murdered in the middle of his research by Umbrella and discarded like trash just like his previous test subjects.  Part of his research was the involvement with the tyrant virus.  Part of that virus must of passed  into him and created something much sinister.  He turned into some monstrosity.  We fought against this thing and eventually we survived, but there was more.  Someone had this facility ready to detonate.  We were running out of time.  It was time to get out and quick.
The sunlight was very blinding on the bluff we eventually made to.  I could see a mansion off in the distance that my commander told me about.  It could be safe, so this was to be my next destination, but before that.  I took a little keep safe from Billy.  His  dog tags.  I still don’t know why I did it.  Maybe to have proof to turn in to the military after the mission to show that Lieutenant Coen was really dead, or  I guess I wanted something to remember him by.  Now it was time to say goodbye.  I paused for a while.  I had a million things running through my mind at this point.  I wanted to say Thank you, I owe you my life, where do you think you’ll go now?, or will we ever meet again?  I think I was really starting to like this man, but all I could do was salute him as a soldier. Then I walked away without looking back.  Possible to never see him again…

Rebecca sighs as she shuts her leather bound diary and sets it down on her bedside nightstand.  She flops down, back first on her bed.  She stares up at the ceiling for a few seconds and then over at the clock on the wall.  It was nearly two o clock in the morning and she’s still up.  She closes her eyes for a second and opens them.  She doesn’t really want to admit that she’s tired, but it’s been difficult getting sleep since the horror a year ago.  She had left S.T.A.R.S after that and moved to the inner part of Raccoon city.  Hoping to start a new life.  She lives in a fairly decent apartment complex.  There’s a few cracks in the walls and there paper thin so she can hear everything her neighbors are doing.  But the rent is cheap.
Rebecca stretches out her arms across the bed.  “I think I should get some sleep” she says to herself as she glances over at the clock again.  She turns on her side and gets ready to slumber, but her hand hits something.  She sits up and holds the object at eye level.  The silver object she holds makes a clanking sound as she moves it around.  It’s Billy’s dog tags that she took from him .  She rubs her thumb across the tag to feel the indented description  on it.  She lays back down while still dangling  the tags high above her like a mobile.  Shortly after, she draws in her arm with the tags to her chest, and falls asleep. “Billy” she whispers.
So, I was inspired to write this fan fiction after playing resident evil zero for the first time, and also after viewing other deviations in the resident evil category. I decided to write a coupling fan fiction about Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen. I couldn't help agree with many that the two make such a cute couple. And after the game, I was hoping that the two would eventually meet up again, maybe in another RE. So this story is taking place a year after the incident in the Arkley Mountains, now presently in Raccoon City. You'll have to read and tell me what you think. I do apologize however, I'm not really much of a fanfic writer, so this is kind of one of my first attempts in writing a decent story. I'm hoping it sounds good, so go a head and read through it, and I will have the next chapter soon ready. Oh, also, sorry for the way it looks on here. I'm not really good at formatting these to the page so, please bare with me. Thanks
